Learning outcomes


  • make realistic career and post-graduate study decisions, based on a clear articulation of their ambitions and a careful assessment of their own capabilities.

  • Demonstrate the skills necessary for interpreting design briefs and client requirements.

select a piece of writing that can be "poetry, an excerpt from fiction or non-fiction, lyrical writing or any other inspiring text may be used".


work will be in three parts



  • a care study or blog that examines one or a range of modern production techniques. the case study can be written as annotation or an illustrated journal or can be an extended, illustrated essay. whatever presentation method is adopted, research sources must be cited using an appropriate system of referencing. a minimum of 2,000 words must be written in response to the project theme.

  • a photographic work that evolves a visual theme inspired by a piece of poetry or creative writing. the selection of this creative writing will be addressed within group seminar. there are no technical constraints, other than you should utilise production techniques.

  • upon completion of your case study/blog image portfolio you will deliver an oral presentation to your year group. the presentation Will allow the student to further demonstrate their understanding of modern photography practices and techniques through a formal critique and presentation.
